10 Tips for a Healthy Headspace
1. Be Confident & Secure in Who You Are
Everyone has a talent and something to offer - you’ll never be like anyone else because you’re not supposed to be. When you appreciate your individuality you can use it to your advantage. Look to others for inspiration of course, but don’t forget about the unique parts that are already embedded in you. You are helpful, knowledgeable, and talented.
2. Be Thankful Everyday
Acknowledging and appreciating what you already have can sometimes slip our minds. We get caught up waiting for what’s next and looking for something new - all while forgetting that we already have so much. Take time to slow down and think about or list all that you are grateful for - focusing on the positive only attracts more positivity.
3. Expect Things To Go Well
When you begin expecting that things will go well, they usually will. Utilizing positive self talk and anticipating that everything will go well often makes you not even realize the things that did not go according to plan. When you feel yourself planning out the worst case scenarios, change your mindset. Good things are coming.
- Take a mental step back from the situation
- Take a literal deep breath
- Tell yourself that one moment will never bleed out into the rest of your day and redirect your energy
4. Find Your Passion in Your Place of Work
This one is big. This is how you live the majority of your life, day in and day out, so make it something that is rewarding, exciting and is a positive environment for you to be in. Also, don’t settle, even for a certain dollar figure. Living happy with less beats living miserable with more.
5. Surround Yourself With Genuine Friends
You need a good support system. You don’t need anyone who isn’t rooting for you. I always see that one quote, it goes something like “be friends with someone who would say your name in a room full of opportunity”. That quote speaks for itself!
6. Tell People You Care About Them
You might already think this in your head, but it’s a different story when you actually tell someone how you feel. Again, life is way too short to not tell those certain people that you love them.
7. Give
Giving always makes me feel good. Put yourself in a position to help others as often as you can. Being completely honest, I feel as though giving doesn’t get brought up as often as it probably should. Giving is one of the most rewarding things you can do. You never know how you can impact someone else. If you are unable to give your time, find a cause that is important to you and donate to that cause.
8. Invest in Yourself
You deserve to be healthy, organized, and feel good. You have to deal with yourself every single day, you might as well create the best version of yourself that you possibly can. It’s also rewarding when you can confidently say that you invest in yourself and your future.
9. Spend Your Time Wisely
This might sound cliche, but life is too short to spend your time worrying. Instead, focus on the present while setting yourself up for the future. When you focus on what’s right in front of you, you are truly living.
10. Block Your Time
Have you ever thought about your day being divided up into three 8 hour blocks? You sleep for 8, work for 8, and then you have 8 hours to do whatever you want. Along with that freedom comes choice. What you choose to do and how you choose to spend that spare 8 hours can impact a lot. Just keep that in mind! (I know not everyone has the same life schedule but you get the gist).
