I TRIED TIKTOK BEAUTY TRENDS SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO

If you are an avid user of social media these days, your feed is filled with bizarre beauty hacks and recommendations. I personally love getting advice from TikTok influencers like Alix Earle, Aubrey Trullinger and more. I did a little research and tried some trending TikTok beauty hacks and I’m here to give you the low down on what worked and what didn’t!

Of course I had to order the white eyeliner that Alix Earle swears by! She lines her lower lids with this NYX eyeliner in order to make her eyes look bigger and rounder. Honestly, when I first put it on, I looked like a 90s Justin Timberlake BUT it did make my eyes look bigger. I will say that as I wore it throughout the day, it started to come off so I wouldn’t recommend wearing it for long periods of time. Would recommend it for a special event or a night out with some added eyeshadow and glam!

I am a girl who curls her hair often so I was so excited to try this hack! All you have to do is wrap your hair in your Lulu leggings and sleep with it overnight. This one works wonders. It gave me beach waves rather than curls, but I still love this hack for an everyday easy hair style with no heat!

I have tried every self tanner in the book, but I had never thought of putting it on my face until I saw the TikTok trend. The trend involves taking a brush and applying self tanner in the places you’d normally contour. I tried this trend and applied it to my cheekbones and jawline. I have very sensitive skin so I was nervous about breakouts. I woke up in the morning and to be honest, my face just looked very messy and uneven. Even when I washed it off I was left with some residue that made my face look dirty. Wouldn’t recommend sleeping with def tanner on your face BUT I did find an alternative for a glowy, tan face - tanologist self tan face drops! I mix this into my moisturizer at night and it leaves my face and neck with a glowy tan.

I had heard about this before social media but this is a beauty trend that has been circulating TikTok recently. It involves dunking your face in an ice water bucket. I have tried this after a night out when I’m feeling puffy and it has worked wonders. Face water dumping is great for blood circulation, depuffing and even anxiety. I also have a face roller from Stile that works AMAZING! If you don’t want to go through the trouble of dumping your whole face in, use this roller on the fly to depuff.

I have been seeing so many influencers putting their foundation in water before applying and I was interested to try this one. It is supposed to make your foundation look smoother and lighter on your face. It did make my foundation less heavy looking, but I felt like it was wasteful to my expensive foundation. Wouldn’t recommend it!
I love trying new social media beauty trends and if you have any you’d like to share, please DM me on instagram (@stile_perlei), I’d love to hear your recommendations!
