THIS FEBRUARY, BE YOUR OWN VALENTINE
How the Stile team indulges in self love, and so should you!
With Valentine’s Day right around the corner you’ll undoubtedly be inundated with ideas on what to get your significant other or how to celebrate with your best gal pals (we love a Galentine’s moment). And while all those suggestions will likely be useful it’s important to not only show love to those around you but to make sure you’re showing yourself some love too!
The ladies at Stile know a thing or two about self-care and they have some great suggestions on how to treat yourself this Valentine’s Day. Read on to check out how the team exercises a little self-love every day:
“As I have gotten older I have really come to learn the importance of self care. Taking care of yourself helps you show up better for others and allows you to become a better mom, partner, friend, boss or whatever other relationships you are in. My number one self care routine is having quiet mornings in the early hours before my husband and children wake up. At 5 am I love to wake before the sun, have my coffee, write in my journal, and read. This year I plan to work on mediation and would love to add that into my self care routine. The days I get this precious time in the morning I am more productive, happier, and feel empowered to win the day.”

“Self care is something that I have been working hard to incorporate into my weekly routine. I love my on-the-go lifestyle, but stopping to take an unplugged moment for myself has taught me the importance and benefits of carving out time to slow down. My favorite way to unwind is a hot bath with Dr. Teal’s eucalyptus and spearmint epsom salt while listening to a podcast at the end of the day. Another favorite is spraying my bed with lavender aromatherapy mist before going to sleep - I love this scent at the spa and it turns my room into a tranquil environment to unwind to.”

“A big self-care priority for me is making sure I have a day to myself at least twice a month. A day where I’m not on anyone else’s time but my own. On those days I love to get some movement in, pop into a coffee shop for an oat milk latte, read, manifest, and just tune into my thoughts without any distractions! I’ll often treat myself to a mani/pedi, take myself out to lunch, and go for a long walk along the trail by my house. After these ‘me’ days I feel refreshed and ready to jump right back into work. I also feel like I can be fully present with my friends and family because I’ve had time to ground myself in a way that best suits my overall wellbeing.”

“Practicing self-love and self-care is very important to me, not only so I can feel my best but so I can be the best version of myself for those around me. I love journaling and will often put pen to paper when I’m feeling overwhelmed or stuck in my thoughts. I also try to repeat positive affirmations to myself in the morning so I start the day off on a great note. This grounds me and helps me feel like I’m able to handle anything on the horizon because I’ve already established a positive mindset for the day. And if all else fails I can always count on a good yoga sesh to clear my mind and re-center me.”

“I indulge in self-care by not limiting myself. I believe everything in moderation can be good and I allow myself to enjoy the simple pleasures of life! Whether it’s a glass of wine and a slice of pizza after a long day, treating myself to a new outfit, or putting a facemask on and taking a bubble bath. I have a peloton at home and love to release some endorphins a few times a week which always leaves me feeling relaxed. I also believe in the power of positivity and how a smile can go a long way. I practice self-love by trying to be positive everyday and being kind to myself and others.”

“I use positive affirmations to help guide me in showing self-love. I try to recognize the small victories on hard days and I recently started getting into breath work to reconnect with my mind. I also love to curl up on the couch with a good snack and watch my favorite movie or TV show – just relaxing, watching my show and enjoying my treat! Of course, nothing helps quite like a cute new clothing item (or two) or a new pair of shoes – so going shopping is another one of my favorite things to do.”

“When indulging in a bit of self-care I love a good face mask. I’ll keep the mask on for 45 minutes while watching an episode of The Real Housewives – which also happens to be my favorite way to unwind after a long day. When thinking about self-love I consider things that will bring me back to center. There’s a river across from a farm near me and it’s stunning. I take my dog, Gracie, for walks there and we take in the beautiful views while breathing in the fresh air. The added bonus is the quality time I get to spend with my sweet pup! It clears my head and truly refreshes my soul.

“My skincare routine at night is my favorite part of the day. It makes me feel so relaxed and ready for the following day. I also LOVE my Peter Thomas Roth eye masks; I use those religiously along with my eye roller! I’ll pop it in the freezer and roll my face out in the morning to make my face look a bit more alive.”

“To me, self-care is all about treating yourself and practicing self-love. I probably say ‘I’m treating myself’ a little too often but I think for me it’s all about the little things that I know will make me happy. Those include dark chocolate, pizza (but I try to keep it on the healthy side) and using my ice roller and other luxe products that make me feel amazing during and after using them.”
As if it wasn’t obvious already, skincare, relaxation, and positivity is the Stile team’s love language. But more than that, it’s about how what we do makes us feel. We make sure to dedicate time to things that bring us joy and settle our souls. And it’s something we encourage you to practice every day as well!
So this year, when spreading the love, don’t forget to save a little extra for yourself. Boyfriends, girlfriends, best friends, and partners are great but we can only properly love those around us when we learn to love ourselves first. Now go indulge in that face mask, buy yourself some flowers, and head to Stile for a much deserved shopping spree!
