Well, we are here to help. Whether it's a casual barbecue or a night-time soiree, follow along for how to be the hostess with the mostess this LDW!

Labor day weekend is the last big holiday of the summer and it is a weekend that fills up with events quickly, so send you save the dates to your guests 4-6 weeks in advance! Make sure to include dress code and theme on the invitation! For Labor Day weekend, tell your guests to wear something patriotic! Once it's on the calendar, you can really get planning!

Nothing is more stressful than running around on the day of your party looking for an outfit to wear. Get this out of the way ahead of time, so you don't have to worry! As the host, you want to dress comfortably, but also stylish (since it's your party!) For a beachy, casual look go for a colorful bathing suit, button down set, and “killing it” ball cap! For night-time, an all white outfit is elegant and gorgeous! Our all-white pant/button down or top-skirt set is stunning for Labor day evening. If you want to dress up more, opt for a statement-making red or blue dress.

Once you have a head count, you can start building your menu! Labor Day weekend is a festive holiday and a great time to throw your last barbecue before the fall begins. Take full advantage of this and serve some grilled dishes and a yummy side of your choice! Some ideas for your Labor Day party menu include grilled chicken/veggie kabobs, hamburgers and hotdogs, or steak for your main dish. Pair with a delicious side like tomato/mozzarella salad, pasta salad, or coleslaw - a dish big enough to feed many guests. With the summer heat, a fresh fruit salad is also always a crowd favorite. For dessert, a seasonal fresh fruit pie from the local farmers market will have your guests in love.

Make sure you have plenty of cocktails and mocktails for guests. Provide water and any alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages your guests might want. It’s always fun to provide a signature drink for your guests as well! One of my personal favorites is a bay breeze - fill a tall glass with ice, add rum and pineapple juice, then top with cranberry juice. Serve it with a fruit garnish like a pineapple wedge! This one is so refreshing and can be served with or without alcohol!

For Labor Day, display fun and festive red, white and blue decorations around the place, but keep it simple. Incorporate simple hints of red white and blue into your table - some patriotic napkin holders or a few flags in your center piece. Seasonal flowers in vases and candles are a great way to liven up the house and create ambiance for your party!
