Visual Merchandiser

P O S I T I O N   O V E R V I E W : 

The Visual Merchandiser is a leader, highly fluid in an ever changing space, and has strong skills for a fast paced environment. The objective of this role is to utilize visual merchandising to convert window shoppers into prospects, drive branding and sales objectives, provide an excellent in-store experience, and maximize profitability. The candidate brings story telling, creative ideas, and other initiatives to enhance the brand. 

Duties/expectations include but are not limited to: 

  • Define, develop, and implement a creative visual merchandising strategy
  • Research lifestyle, demographics, and design trends
  • Utilize the trends that dominate the retail market to implement a winning visual merchandising strategy
  • Create appealing and eye-catching visual displays that lead the customer through the entirety of the store
  • Produce monthly floor plans and interior displays for each location
  • Utilize color stories and storytelling when creating themed racks / displays
  • Incorporate new product launches and reflect festive / seasonal themes within displays
  • Identify key messages and set  a clear image of the end result 
  • Utilize product selling reports to make adjustments to current merchandising displays / Gai data for future merchandising plans
  • Create, revise, and present design ideas to the Director of Stores 
  • Collaborate with Store Management to develop and implement visual merchandising strategies
  • Collaborate with the sales team to understand customer preferences and optimize product placement 
  • Brief the team on the upkeep of merchandising and ensure the merchandise is properly displayed and organized according to brand standards
  • Maintain inventory control by monitoring stock levels and replenishing displays as needed
  • Uphold the integrity of merchandise & ensure the integrity of merchandise continues to be upheld by the team
  • Design and implement window displays quarterly that convert window shoppers into prospects
  • Provide guidance and approve weekly mannequin updates
  • Design and produce signage for promotions, events, and displays
  • Source display pieces and accessories to enhance the merchandising of the store
  • Oversee the production of signage / displays
  • Monitor cost of supplies and work within budget
  • Act in alignment of the Stile's culture, products, image, and target market 


Q U A L I F I C A T I O N S :

  • Proven work experience as a Visual Merchandiser or Visual Manager 
  • BS degree in visual merchandising, fashion merchandising, exhibition design, or visual communications
  • Demonstrable visual design skills with a strong retail merchandising portfolio
  • Solid experience in field visual merchandising, including window displays, signs, interior displays, and space utilization
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Canva, Photoshop, and Illustrator
  • Knowledge of current visual merchandising trends and practices
  • Knowledge of the fashion industry
  • A eye for aesthetic
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Detail oriented and highly organized
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage / organize a schedule to meet deliverables
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Creative and innovative thinker
  • Ability to analyze sales merchandising reports and survey results
  • Ability to think out of the box when creating content / marketing strategies
